Nhar il-Ħamis 10 ta’ Novembru 2011, il-klassijiet tal-Ħames Sena kienu mistiedna sabiex jattendu Seminar bl-isem ta’ “Duq il-Qawsalla” fil-Home Economics Centre B’Kara. It-tema tas-Seminar kienet dwar l-importanza li fid-dieta tagħna ninkludu 5 porzjonijiet ta’ frott u ħaxix kuljum. L-istudenti tgħallmu permezz ta’ stejjer, attivitajiet u logħob edukattiv. Waqt il-brejk it-tfal ingħataw cereal bar nutrittiva. Fl-aħħar tas-seminar kull student u studenta ingħataw ċertifikat ta’ attendenza.

This is a creative writing activity in which students worked in groups in order to create ideas and develop solutions to improve our environment.
From Monday 12th till Friday 16th April 2010 a Healthy Lifestyle Week was organised at school. This event was meant to make students, teachers and parents aware of the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle. Different talks by the Home Economics Department dealt with healthy eating and healthy lunches. Wasteserv Malta gave talks about the three Rs – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Carmen Tedeco gave a lecture to interested parents about how to prepare varied and healthy school lunches. Here are some pictures of these talks.
As part of Healthy Lifestyle Week, students from Year 6A prespared puppet shows for students in Kindergarten 1 and 2 and Years 1 and 2. Students worked in groups and wrote a script for the puppet show about helthy living. Among the topics which featured the most were the importance of eating fruit and vegetables and of doing some form of physical activity everyday. It was a very educational experience both for the students who prepared the puppet shows and also for those who wathced. Here are some pictures of the activity!
